External Affairs
The External Affairs Department work closely and positively with all key stakeholders in Laos to ensure PBM, at all times, works within the country’s laws and adheres to all regulations and procedures related to the mining industry. The relationship with the Government of Lao PDR (GoL) and Xaisomboun Province (where PBM’s operations are based) in particular, are fundamental to the overall longevity of PBM in Laos.
External Affairs is comprised of the following functions:
- Government Relations
- Communication
- Administration of Vientiane Office
Each team supports the PBM’s business continuity and growth strategy. External Affairs enhance the Company’s profile while maintaining PBM’s business presence in Laos. Working closely and positively with key stakeholders, in particular, the Government of Lao PDR (GoL) and Xaisomboun Province where PBM’s operations are based are critical to the overall success of PBM. Key stakeholder management and relationship building with all stakeholder groups in Lao help ensure PBM can operate safely and successfully in Laos.
Government Relations contributes to a wide range of activities to benefit PBM, including working with multiple GoL ministries to support the development potential new projects, protecting PBM’s foreign investment concessions and MEPA rights to tax, owner haulage, project implementation and to enhance the Company reputation in Laos.
The Communication Team support Government Relations work by enhancing the company’s profile with all key Laos stakeholders; and through developing communications strategies in alignment with PanAust’s overarching communication strategy. In terms of tactical delivery, projects include branding, multiple internal and external events, networking events, as well as producing a wide visual media including video, photography, media releases, translation and a range of social media content. The team work closely with key stakeholders, collaborating with government ministries, and in partnership with leading national and local media to ensure targeted dissemination of up-to-date PBM news, achievements and key milestones.
VTE Administration provide administrative support to Vientiane based business units at a low cost. Admin functions cover office management, office maintenance and renovation, office supplies, kitchen supplies, office access, maintenance of Vientiane vehicles, managing reception, drivers and housekeepers.
